Project Description:
The works at 56–66 Lordship Lane involved a full upgrade of the building’s fire safety systems. This included replacing and repairing fire doors, improving compartmentation, and installing new systems such as fire alarms, AOV, emergency lighting and fire-rated glazing.
The project was carried out to bring the building up to current fire safety standards and improve overall safety for residents and occupants.
Internal:
• Replacement of existing fire doors with new certified fire-rated doors.
• Repairs to existing fire doors, including adjusting doors, replacing hinges, installing new seals and upgrading door hardware to meet current standards.
• Fire stopping works throughout the building to seal gaps and openings and improve fire protection between areas.
• Installation of a new fire alarm system, including detectors, sounders and call points in communal areas and flats.
• Upgrade and connection of fire alarm system to lifts, access control and commercial units.
• Installation of a new AOV system to improve smoke ventilation in the stair core.
• Installation and upgrade of emergency lighting to improve visibility and safety during power failure.
• Replacement of existing windows with fire-rated units to protect escape routes and improve overall fire performance of the building.
• Works completed in an occupied building, requiring careful coordination, phased working and protection of existing finishes throughout.
